Vintage... you don't need to shop for!

If there's one thing I love even more than shopping is cheap shopping for great pieces (and satisfaction). It happened to me but not so often that I could get some silk scarf for 5 euros or a great new real leather bag for 30 that I wore for ages.

And there's something that I love even more than cheap shopping and buying bargains: free vintage.
Ok, Ok I know! Who wouldn't love it?? It's free stuff!
But I'm talking about the peculiar pleasure of opening your grandmother boxes and find little treasures, finding your mother's old student bag in a forgotten closet or rescuing a Prada bag or a Ferragamo scarf from the bottom of the cellar.

I also found some treasures in the past (for example an old black Prada bag of my grandmother that I love soooo much and I'll show you for sure later on) and today I found more, namely two pair of gloves, one silk little scarf and a leather bag (the one that my mother used carry her books to University).

Sorry for the pictures, it is dark and I could just use artificial lights but it is enough to have an idea!

Soft beige leather gloves (they make my hands look so thin and elegant!) and black-white-orangey brown silk scarf
Leather bag and wool/leather gloves
I love them!! Tomorrow I'll surely wear something (maybe I can make better pics...)
What do you think? Do you like them?

I think I'll surely search some more before I get back to Belgium, eheheh...

  4. I understand why you love them so much, they really are nice. My mother doesn't let me buy second hand/vintage/thrifted clothes, she doesn't like the idea that some old person has worn/used it. I have convinced her to let me buy glasses, brooches, belts, bags (accessories.) I don't want to seem to greedy so I have to limit myself with that.

  5. When I was something like 16 and 15 I was one of those "alternative" and a bit hippie girls that really liked their clothes to be extra shabby and I remember I was buying a lot of those used Peruvian knitwear and velvet jeans in the markets that honestly were very ugly but my mother let me do that, I think she knew it was just a period.

Now I almost only buy vintage accessories: it is enough to give a personal touch to an outfit, they sometimes look almost like new but still with that "lived" feeling (ahahah I think this is a bad translation from Italian) and they're usually loved by everyone (mothers, aunts and grannys included... but not only them :p)

Searching for good vintage dresses always get me kinda frustrated, mainly for the sizes :-(

Therefore, I think you're already lucky enough to have convinced her about the accessories ;)

I would really love to see some of them, do you have some pics on your blog... I am going to check :-)

  6. Ellinor thank you very very much!!

I wore the satchel today and it looked so nice with my black coat and the Zara booties, they are almost the same color!

I'm passing by your blog ASAP!
