Has it ever happened to you to see something around (in a shop, on the internet, on the streets...) that makes you think, just after a glance, "WOW this is just... Perfect!"
That's what happened to me when I stumbled upon coseAtre website.
Since I want to avoid the mistake, like we say in Italy, to give you "all smoke and no roasted meat" (ahah I love this saying), I'll start from the hot stuff (the pics of course!) and then I can speak for hours about it (poor you..)
So here are some picks from the coseAtre Tropicana collection for Spring/Summer 2011:
Here's a little description of coseAtre group itself:
CoseAtre starts its path during the Milan Fuori Salone in 2009. Four designers, Chiara Aiello, Laura Armato, Giulia Cerini, Marco Corso, decide to enter the world of accessories and bijoux with passionate inspiration for all that belongs to an elegant and never as today up to date world of vintage. During this path, the collaboration with the Studio Jannelli e Volpi starts with a special edition of bags and, in February 2010, the team brings on the catwalk its creations thanks to the participation of one of the founders of CoseAtre at Next Generation (competition promoted by Camera della Moda Italiana).
And the Tropicana collection:
The memory of a journey - maybe never occurred - with an exotic fragrance. Corals, tropical flowers, precious chests, postcards never sent: this is the oniric scenario of inspiration for CoseAtre S/S 2011 collection, that was presenteded at the last WHITE. Among tricks of laces born out of piercing on latex and cameos realized by rubber braiding, CoseAtre asserts a life style based on the immortality of the sensorial experience of memories. Old jewels acquire uniqueness covered with crystals and precious stones, which together with strong accent colors make the delicate tones of rubber more precious. The collection addresses a contemporary woman, who like an Amazon, feels the sensorial impulses and as colonial queen desires to impose her sophisticated essence.
nnnnnWhy am I so impressed with their job?
Well, there are a few "fashion" things for which I really really have a soft spot. These are: bags, scarves, make-up and jewellery/bijoux.
Problem is that when you have a fixation on something you usually don't want the things that everybody has, that you can easily buy in a chain-shop like H&M or Zara or that don't look that original. What I usually look for is something that is beautiful and matches my taste, that is of good quality and that can show my personality.
Solution is: or you start to buy designer jewellery starting from 6000 euros a piece (that way, you can be sure to be unique! ahah) or you struggle searching something that meets your requirements (and you can imagine that it can be quite difficult if you need something that needs to be of good quality + beautiful + meets your taste + that can show your personality + also NOT EXPENSIVE...).
Well, when I saw the pics on coseAtre website I felt in heaven, really!
I've been searching good bijoux made with non precious materials for YEARS without finding anything convincing and then, voilà! Don't they say that you finally find love when you stop searching for it?
I am really amazed by their collection, they have everything I was looking for: romantic and with a vintage taste (the pieces really remind an elaboration of my grandma's amazing laces) but also modern; creative but wearable.
They also remind me the kind of bijoux that is really in style these days on Tokyo streets:

You can find a couple of their works on this very nice e-shop (which is linked to this shop in Turin, Italy).
I also had the chance to choose one or two pieces (I still have to decide!) for me when I contacted them (Laura was so nice!) so be sure that as soon as I get them I'll show you some pics.
I also think that soon I'll also try to get myself something more for spring (I LOVE the white bracelets and the white pendant necklace)
So what do you think, do you like them as much as I do?
